As the Director of Product Marketing, you will be responsible for leading and scaling the product marketing function for Catapult, a high-growth SaaS B2B company in the sports industry. In this role, you will drive the development and execution of go-to-market (GTM) strategies, positioning, messaging, and product launch initiatives. You will lead a team of product marketers, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive product adoption, market differentiation, and customer engagement. This role is crucial in communicating the value of our products to both internal teams and external audiences, ensuring alignment with business growth objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Product Marketing Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the overarching product marketing strategy for Catapult, aligning with our growth goals in the sports tech space.
  • Lead the go-to-market (GTM) strategy for all new product launches and features, ensuring cross-functional alignment with product management, sales, and marketing.
  • Shape product positioning, value propositions, and messaging to ensure differentiation in the market and strong customer resonance.
  • Own the product lifecycle from a marketing perspective, including market research, customer insights, and competitive analysis.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, gathering feedback and insights to inform product development and improvements.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of product marketers, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement frameworks for team development, helping team members expand their skills in areas like positioning, messaging, and competitive analysis.
  • Ensure seamless coordination within the product marketing team and cross-functional collaboration with other departments, such as Sales, Product, and Customer Success.

Go-to-Market (GTM) Execution:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of global product launches, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Drive market penetration and expansion strategies, delivering compelling campaigns that build awareness, drive adoption, and generate demand.
  • Partner with the sales team to create effective sales enablement materials, including product presentations, battle cards, case studies, and customer testimonials.
  • Lead competitive analysis efforts, identifying market opportunities and key differentiators for our products.

Customer-Centric Storytelling & Positioning:

  • Develop compelling product narratives and positioning that resonates with target customers, including sports organizations, leagues, and professional teams.
  • Create messaging frameworks for each product that clearly communicate product benefits, use cases, and the unique value it delivers to the market.
  • Collaborate with the content and creative teams to develop product-related assets such as whitepapers, blogs, video scripts, and webinars.
  • Own thought leadership initiatives, positioning Catapult as the leading innovator in the sports tech space.

Product Adoption & Market Penetration:

  • Develop strategies to drive product adoption and maximize customer retention through targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Analyze customer feedback, engagement data, and market trends to inform ongoing product enhancements and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with customer success and sales to identify and promote upsell and cross-sell opportunities.

Data-Driven Insights & Performance Tracking:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product marketing initiatives, such as product adoption, customer satisfaction, and pipeline influence.
  • Leverage data analytics tools to assess campaign performance, market trends, and customer feedback, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Deliver regular reports to leadership on the impact of product marketing efforts, providing recommendations for ongoing improvement and optimization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Product Management to ensure marketing and product teams are aligned on product roadmap and feature priorities.
  • Collaborate with Sales to understand customer needs and create targeted sales enablement content that empowers them to effectively sell the product.
  • Partner with Customer Success to gather customer feedback, improve onboarding, and create materials that help customers maximize product value.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably within a SaaS or B2B technology environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing go-to-market strategies, managing product launches, and driving product adoption.
  • Strong understanding of the sports tech industry, including key trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a team, with strong leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills.
  • Proven success in positioning and messaging SaaS products, with the ability to translate complex technical features into clear, customer-centric value propositions.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive strategic decisions and measure performance.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present ideas and strategies clearly to stakeholders and customers.
