We are looking for a new Director, Product Design to be the driving force behind our product vision and process. This individual will expertly lead our exceptional design team in creating innovative golf and travel products — including golf bags, travel luggage, and accessories — that resonate with our active lifestyle community.

As a visionary leader, you will spearhead our long-term product strategy, overseeing the entire creation journey from strategy to concept, and from development to market. You’ll continuously refine our offerings to strengthen brand loyalty and drive sales. What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of products, ensuring alignment with strategy, staying within budget, and meeting deadlines.
  • Provide a compelling perspective on new products that can advance our brand, drawing on trends, competitive landscape, and consumer insights.
  • Introduce innovative product ideas, including new materials, construction methods, features, colors, and silhouettes.
  • Tailor product offerings to specific consumer personas across diverse collections, ensuring each product resonates with target audiences by addressing their unique needs and lifestyles.
  • Identify and cultivate emerging global market opportunities, adapting product strategies to local consumer preferences and cultural nuances to drive international growth.
  • Present product concepts and strategic initiatives effectively to senior executives and key customers, articulating the value and vision behind each idea to secure buy-in and foster collaborative partnerships.
  • Oversee talented design teams for technical products, luggage, and bags/accessories from strategy to concept, continually improving current products to enhance brand and sales.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Merchandising, Development, Marketing, and E-Commerce teams to ensure product features are clearly communicated across all touchpoints.
  • Hire, mentor, and lead a diverse team of designers eager to contribute unique ideas.

What You Bring:

  • A proven track record in design for luggage, bags, and accessories at reputable brands.
  • An impressive portfolio that showcases a successful balance of innovation and commercialization.
  • A thorough understanding of the design lifecycle, including proficiency in reviewing tech specs, creating concept presentations, and using AI, Photoshop, and 3D software.
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping cross-functional stakeholders informed and advocating for necessary changes to maintain brand integrity.
  • A dedicated collaborator who embodies a “no task is too small” attitude.
  • The capability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced environments and adapt quickly to new challenges.
  • A passion for transforming travel for active lifestyle enthusiasts—a core value that drives all efforts.

Experience and Background:

  • Education & Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field. An MBA or advanced design-focused certification is a plus, providing a strong balance between design thinking and business acumen.
  • Design Leadership (8-10+ years): Demonstrated experience as a Director or Senior Product Designer in the luggage, bags, or accessories industry, ideally within an active lifestyle, outdoor, or travel-focused brand. Experience leading high-performing teams, mentoring designers, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Proven success balancing design integrity with commercial demands and growth.
  • Product Lifecycle Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the design-to-market lifecycle, from concept development and trend analysis to prototype testing and launch. Skilled in creating and reviewing tech specs, leading product development reviews, and utilizing design tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D rendering software, and AI tools for concept visualization.
  • Trend and Market Insights: A keen ability to identify consumer trends, emerging global markets, and local cultural preferences, translating these insights into products that resonate across various consumer personas and demographics.
  • Innovation and Commercialization: A track record of introducing innovative ideas, materials, and features that advance brand vision while achieving business objectives. Recognized for the ability to inspire product development that enhances brand loyalty and meets market demands.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong collaborator with experience working closely with Production, Merchandising, Development, Marketing, and E-Commerce teams, ensuring seamless product alignment with brand strategy and consumer needs across all touchpoints.
  • Strategic Communication and Presentation: Proven ability to communicate and present product concepts and strategies to senior executives, customers, and cross-functional partners, with clarity and conviction. Skilled in articulating the unique value and vision behind product ideas to gain buy-in and support from stakeholders.
  • Global Market Adaptability: Experienced in identifying and adapting strategies to capture emerging international opportunities, tailoring products to diverse consumer preferences, and driving global brand expansion.
