The Director Portfolio Management role will be responsible for the management of sales and services efforts for their assigned (typically more complex) clients to ensure the retention and or deepening of existing relationships as well as the growth of new relationships The Director, Portfolio Management identifies opportunities to enhance the profitability of client relationships, including cross-selling activities for other products and services. You will assist Managing Directors with the management of client relationships and portfolio risk management of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation of financial analysis and underwriting for new borrowers, as well as annual reviews and routine renewals of maturing and conforming loans; complete new credit offering memorandums as needed and include all data/information requirements up to the executive summary (for deals over $5 million but including completion of all underwriting for deals less than $5 million) which includes the evaluation and recommendation of credit actions.
- Ensuring timely production of request letters, receipt and initial review of required financial information, and advice to lending personnel, as well as production of appropriate file entries or determination of action plans. Maintain appropriate client collateral control procedures, including monitoring the receipt of borrowing base data and compliance. Develop and utilize expertise with pricing model; run scenarios through Salesforce.
- Provides customer service, participates in joint sales calls with Relationship Managers, responds to prospect or customer credit questions, sells appropriate products and services to prospects and customers, and identifies and capitalizes on cross-sell opportunities and makes appropriate referrals.
- Assist with training and professional improvement of the team; provide coaching to maximize achievement of performance expectations.
- Will engage outside counsel and work with them and the borrower throughout the documentation process.
- Obtains final signed documentation from borrowers and work with the loan closer throughout the closing process.
- Follow Commercial Law Firm Banking procedures to enter applications for specialty lending products such as Partner Line of Credit and/or Partner Capital Loans through appropriate systems (LASERPRO) and work with credit manager for approval, prepare documents for closings.
- Work closely with Relationship Manager to prepare credit memo for new and existing lending opportunities.
- Join client and prospect calls when needed and proactively reach out to clients with checklist of financials needed to obtain credit approvals.
Experience, Skills & Education:
- Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelors, and/or Masters) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or else extensive related professional experience are eligible for consideration.
- 5-7 years of business/commercial credit experience required
- Formal credit training is desired or relevant work experience required.
- Attention to detail for asset monitoring and cash flow loan documentation, diligent and timely portfolio maintenance.
- Candidates should have underwriting/credit analysis experience and be able to structure credit solutions for existing and potential borrowers; advocate borrower/prospect position in credit approval process.
- Candidate should be proficient in the Sageworks process including originating and completing workflows and risk rating borrowers.

The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 to $165,000. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
