Position Overview

The Director of New Business Acquisition is responsible for leading a team of Sales Executives dedicated to identifying, pursuing, and securing new customer business opportunities. This role involves guiding the team to actively prospect, leverage leads, and convert opportunities into successful business projects, ensuring alignment with Autodesk's quarterly and annual growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership

    • Guide and coach the sales team to build and maintain relationships with new customers
    • Support team members in identifying and documenting Customer Business Initiatives (CBIs)
    • Develop and oversee strategic customer plans to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Sales Strategy and Execution

    • Coach team members on prioritizing and justifying business initiatives based on potential commercial benefits
    • Conduct and present in-depth analyses of potential returns on investment to prospective customers
    • Align initiatives with customer strategic goals and CBIs to demonstrate Autodesk’s value
  • Customer Engagement

    • Ensure team members provide personalized, value-added solutions tailored to customer needs
    • Support negotiations around pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and other deal conditions
    • Oversee proposal preparation and submissions for RFPs to secure business deals
  • Collaboration and Planning

    • Foster collaboration within the team and across Autodesk's extended teams, including Business Development, Technical Sales, and Marketing
    • Drive proactive account planning in partnership with Autodesk Partners
    • Lead the team in identifying and prioritizing customers within assigned territories, balancing opportunity value, deal velocity, and propensity to buy
  • Performance and Metrics

    • Monitor and measure the sales performance of the team and division
    • Track, analyze, and report key sales metrics to inform strategic decisions and forecasts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience in developing and executing strategic plans to acquire new customers and achieve sales targets
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with decision-makers at new businesses
  • Expertise in guiding teams to maintain a robust sales pipeline and align Autodesk's product suite with customer outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills for market analysis, competitor research, and identifying growth opportunities
  • Track record of fostering collaboration between sales teams and internal customer-facing teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Proficiency in tracking and analyzing sales metrics to inform strategy and forecasts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in leading sales teams and managing business development activities
  • Strong background in strategic planning and execution
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting, metrics analysis, and revenue planning
  • Deep understanding of Autodesk’s solutions or similar offerings in the software or technology space is a plus
