ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Director of Network Infrastructure, you will oversee the company's network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, scalability, and resilience. This role involves managing personnel, optimizing network systems, handling vendor relationships, ensuring compliance, and implementing network plans to achieve robust, reliable, and efficient network operations. You will drive strategic initiatives for network stability, redundancy, and performance while maintaining essential documentation and process control.
Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:
- Oversee equipment lifecycle management, including end-of-life (EOL) procedures, licensing, maintenance schedules, renewals, and vulnerability updates.
- Establish frameworks to ensure uninterrupted network operations and rapid recovery in case of disruptions.
- Manage ISP relationships, contracts, contacts, and compliance with SLAs (99.7%-100% availability).
- Implement systems for tracking and resolving network-related issues efficiently.
- Provide leadership through task assignments, goal-setting, feedback, performance management, and team training.
- Deliver ongoing performance management, evaluations, and growth planning for the team.
- Drive hiring and onboarding efforts for new personnel in alignment with business needs.
- Deploy and enforce network security standards, policies, and best practices across all sites.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of physical and logical network architectures, SOPs, and incident tracking.
- Implement monitoring systems to rapidly detect fault conditions and manage network capacity proactively. Develop and maintain test environments to validate network changes and improvements.
- Centralize tracking of all network devices, including type, model, serial number, location, and ownership.
- Ensure efficient network access management for customers.
- Achieve and maintain SOC 2, Type 2 audit compliance and ITIL conformity, particularly with change management processes.
- Oversee ISP management through the IT group and ensure effective contract management.
- Lead network optimization efforts and drive implementation plans over 1.5 years.
- Establish equipment standardization, cross-entity training, and network redundancy.
- Oversee implementation of a robust and standardized network infrastructure over a 2-year period.

Must-Haves
- Proven experience in network management, including ISP infrastructure, vendor management, and network optimization.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, redundancy planning, and security policies.
- Leadership skills with experience in personnel management, training, and performance feedback.
- Champion team development through coaching, mentoring, cross-training, and skills development programs.
- Experience managing onboarding and fostering team culture.
- Proficiency in network monitoring, documentation, and ticketing systems.
- Familiarity with compliance standards (SOC 2, Type 2) and ITIL processes.
- Ability to lead a team through complex network implementations and optimizations.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Availability to support a 24x7x365 network operations environment.
Nice-to-Haves
- Prior experience in managing network infrastructure for high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Familiarity with NOC screen design and monitoring.
- Experience in multi-ISP management and redundancy planning.
- Familiarity with asset management systems for tracking network devices.
- Project management skills with the ability to implement long-term network plans effectively.
