The Role
Wpromote is looking for a Director of Learning and Development who will be a strategic partner to agency leadership, responsible for cultivating a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous learning. This role designs and delivers programs that enhance employee performance, leadership capability, and digital marketing expertise to meet the fast-paced demands of the advertising industry. The Director will ensure that the workforce is equipped with cutting-edge skills to excel in client service, strategic thinking, and digital innovation.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $130,000 - $150,000, based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and the respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).
*This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions

You Will Be
- Developing a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with the company’s vision, client demands, and industry trends
- Leading the creation and implementation of specialized training programs in areas such as digital marketing, creative strategy, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, data analytics)
- Partnering with senior leaders and business unit leaders to identify skill gaps and future talent needs
- Developing leadership programs for account managers/directors, paid media, earned and owned, sales, and leadership to build strong client-facing and team management skills
- Embedding learning into the company's culture to drive engagement, retention, and competitive advantage
- Integrating external certifications and partnerships (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Blueprint) into development programs
- Fostering cross-functional learning to enhance collaboration between creative, account, and technical teams
- Overseeing the development of internal resources, such as a centralized knowledge hub or digital training platform
- Providing training in client-centric skills, such as storytelling, pitching, and negotiation
- Ensuring employees stay ahead of trends in advertising and digital innovation
- Maintaining budget oversight, tracking ROI of L&D initiatives based on client success and employee performance
- Driving adoption of new tools and platforms, ensuring smooth transitions through robust training programs
- Equipping teams to adapt to shifting client needs, new marketing channels, and regulatory changes
- Managing external consultants as needed, ensuring programs are impactful and aligned with agency goals
You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in L&D, with at least 3–5 years in advertising, digital marketing, or a creative industry
- Strong understanding of the digital marketing lifecycle, including campaign management, digital strategy, and client engagement
- Experience with innovative learning methods, including gamification, simulations, and social learning
- Familiarity with certifications and platforms commonly used in digital marketing (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Ability to tailor programs to the unique demands of various teams
- A forward-thinking approach to developing programs that inspire creativity and innovation
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments
- Expertise in developing training that enhances client relationship management, storytelling, and presentation skills
- Capacity to anticipate future skill demands based on market trends and client feedback.
- Proficiency in aligning learning programs with the agency’s strategic goals and creative direction
- Skills in using learning management systems (LMS) and tools such as virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) for creative training.
- Knowledge in advertising-specific tools (e.g., programmatic platforms, analytics dashboards)
- Proficiency in using analytics to assess program success, including tracking employee upskilling and client outcomes.
- Ability to demonstrate how learning initiatives drive key performance indicators (KPIs) such as pitch win rates and campaign ROI
- Strong communication skills to engage diverse audiences, from early career to executives.
- Ability to build trust with leadership and foster collaboration across departments
