About the Role:
Responsible for the application management for departments such as Research and Early Discovery, including Pre-Clinical and CMC. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost-effective and meet user requirements. Determines system specifications and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Designs details of automated systems. Provides consultation to users in the area of automated systems.
IT senior level business partner, fully dedicated to departments in the organization, coordinating IT services, application, data and database technologies in partnership with the business. Plans and directs the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Develops strategic plans / objectives and influences organizational decisions that involve multiple groups and/or locations and is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of business solutions which may also require compliance to FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and Data Privacy regulations.

Your contributions:

Leveraging a deep expertise in biopharmaceutical Research and Early Discovery IT and business environments, this individual would collaborate closely with stakeholders and key business partners to translate business needs into effective system and data requirements and be responsible for business requirements analysis, design, and implementation

Partners with the various teams to plan for the future needs of Neurocrine's systems and data, builds a technology solution roadmap that aligns with future business priorities, and works with internal IT staff and/or external partners to deliver those IT solutions

Act as a technical liaison, ensuring business needs are properly translated into technical requirements

Able to assess the current systems environment and identify and help implement process and/or system changes that enhance effectiveness

Provides oversight and management of vendors and outsourced partners conducting work on assigned projects, ensuring their deliverables are in alignment within the agreed scope and business requirements while maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships

Lead and initiate troubleshooting quality / functionality issues associated with our technology systems

Partner with the business teams to drive and project manage overall technology demand in accordance with business priorities, funding, and resource allocations

Provide oversight for the technical support and management of field equipment and services

Interact with training, operations and various departments on issues relating to the implementation and support of applications, equipment and services

Take the lead on evaluating and implementing additional technologies that may improve the overall quality of systems throughout related departments

Consult with department representatives to determine requirements for data access, reports, and interfaces, engaging additional IT teams as required

Evaluate and recommend process improvements and support the development of processes required for the successful implementation of key software systems

Maintain interaction with department managers to ensure successful implementation of data management/interface tools. This will include both regulatory and compliance requirements for all related IT projects

Participate and often lead project teams in the capacity of supporting application implementation, administration, and support

Requirements:

BS/BA degree in computer science or IT or a similar field and 12+ years of IT experience working in a pharmaceutical company with exposure to Research and Early Development Operations, FDA and Pharma Code regulations, life sciences information technology. Understanding of enterprise and commercial business systems architecture. Recent experience implementing and in support of Research and Early Development applications including LIMS, eLab Notebook, data/system integrations, large scale system rollouts, R&D IT projects and support, and an in-depth experience in database technologies and data warehousing/data mining OR

Master's degree in computer science or related field preferred 10+ years of experience noted above

Recognized as an internal thought leader with extensive technical and business expertise within a Research and Early Development IT strategic organization

Experience partnering on technology for the research and development of small molecules, peptides, biologics and gene therapy

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $182,800.00-$264,750.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
