As the Director of Infrastructure you will play a pivotal role in building and leading a high-performing team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our infrastructure landscape. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will have the opportunity to shape our technology backbone, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. This role requires a strategic mindset, hands-on technical expertise, and exceptional leadership skills to foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the infrastructure team.

What you will do

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our infrastructure systems, including network, servers, storage, and cloud services
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive infrastructure strategy aligned with business objectives, driving innovation and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess infrastructure needs, identify opportunities for optimization, and drive innovation initiatives
  • Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and policies to maintain a secure and compliant infrastructure environment
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, making recommendations for adoption to enhance infrastructure capabilities and efficiency
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts, negotiating agreements and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Develop and manage infrastructure budgets, forecasting future needs and resource requirements
  • Build and develop a talented team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where team members can thrive and grow

What skills and experience you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing infrastructure teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, cloud computing, and storage technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and manage infrastructure that supports high-scale, low-latency SaaS applications
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and real-time data processing is essential.
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a proven track record of optimizing performance and cost
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures is a plus
  • Experience in mentoring and developing engineering talent is important
  • Expertise in implementing and maintaining high availability, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, access control, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Experience in automating infrastructure processes, deploying CI/CD pipelines, and adopting new technologies to improve performance and reliability
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet)
  • Deep knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CISSP) are a plus
