Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for supporting the team in the development pricing activity for our major business accounts and forging effective relationships with company personnel and customers to maximize profitability. This position manages the customer decisions on overall accounts and is generally the last point of escalation
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead talent identification, development, performance, and overall management efforts for a pricing team, including managers of people.
- Review and approve team's pricing bid and proposals, accessorials, etc., to ensure consistency with company objectives, aligns with growth strategy, and delivers on quality of revenue, yield management and overall company profitability
- Consult with Sales, Customer Experience and Operations teams to understand customer requirements, objectives related to pricing needs and market intelligence, as needed.
- Travel to meet onsite and hold calls with customers to conduct account reviews and build relationships to manage account, maintain market competitive pricing to retain and expand business.
- Initiate, manage, and implement projects that will have positive impacts on profitability or operations.
- Assists with the annual budget process using company systems to extract data to forecast volume and rate.
- Own and adjust the pricing models and guidelines, including managing changes in system processes, strategy, or constraints.
- Monitor and provide periodic (e.g., monthly, quarterly) summary of financial metrics related to pricing and sales performance/status toward business unit objectives.
- This position has heavier involvement in more complex pricing deals.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. AND 10 or more years of relevant LTL specific transportation logistics, pricing, or finance experience, or comparable combination of education, experience, and training AND 1-2 years of mid-level management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in transportation logistics, mathematics, economics, or a related field AND 10 or more years of relevant LTL transportation logistics, pricing, or finance experience, or comparable combination of education, experience, and training AND 1-2 years of mid-level management experience

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
