As a London-based member of the OMERS Worldwide HR team, you will act as the European & APAC HR Business Partner to Oxford Properties the real estate arm of OMERS. Oxford is a leading global real estate investor, developer and manager. While your central focus is on Oxford, you will also be the regional HRBP for senior leaders of all asset classes in London and will collaborate with the point HRBPs of these teams who are based in Toronto.

The Oxford business is arranged by sector strategies, creating accountability, clear reporting lines, and fostering deep sector knowledge, while being supported by corporate business partners in the Region and Toronto across GF&S, Legal and Corporate Affairs & Technology. You will be a key member of the European leadership team and partner with senior business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies and programs that enable the achievement of business objectives while remaining grounded and aligned to HR team key imperatives.

Your leader will be located in Toronto, and you will be part of a global HRBP team. You will provide strategic advice and counsel to the senior leadership team and be accountable for providing recommendations to the Communities of Expertise (COE) based in Toronto with key talent programs including talent management, succession planning and resource planning and support other business-driven talent initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • Partner with business leaders in the creation and execution of overall business strategies focused on talent and people initiatives

  • Build organizational capability by influencing the alignment of strategy, culture, practices and behavior

  • Understand, assess and respond to complex situations and provide strategic and innovative solutions to drive results

  • Provide guidance, coaching and advice to senior leaders on a range of HR functions including organization design, workforce strategy, succession planning and talent planning

  • Help to support and cultivate the organizational culture, advocating organizational values and effective leadership.

  • Drive talent management with respect to the talent review and succession processes to ensure the most effective use of talent and resources

  • Actively collaborate by exchanging (listening and sharing) information, observations and learnings with partners and colleagues to drive continuous improvement and operational effectiveness

  • Earn trust through data-based insights, delivering results, influencing and relating to others

  • Demonstrate leadership within the HR function living out transparency, and championing communication and collaboration across all groups, COE, PEX, and HRBP

  • Actively participate in Strategic Regional leadership team meetings/ townhalls and offsites

Skills & Experience:

  • 7-10 years of progressive HR experience across multiple HR disciplines (e.g. complex talent management including executive pipeline and leadership succession mgmt., organizational development and design, etc.)

  • Strong business acumen with previous experience partnering within the same industry

  • Experience working with international offices an asset

  • Ability to diagnose issues, root cause and generate good alternative approaches and solutions

  • Ability to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner using a consultative approach

  • Strong leadership, executive coaching, conflict resolution and relationship management skills

  • Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, written, presentation preparation and delivery)

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to use data to solve problems and make decisions

  • Organizational agility, with a high level of comfort in dealing with employees at all levels with confidence working at senior levels

  • Strong consultative, impact and influence skills with excellent ability to influence senior leaders
