POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) oversees all GME staff and monitors residency or fellowship assignments and scheduling. This position gathers data and creates reports supporting the programs accreditation. They resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. This position also supports the training progress, career development and program completion of all residents and fellows.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Direct and manage the staff of Graduate Medical Education

  • Resolve or alleviate professional and personal problems that may be encountered by trainees and staff in a manner compliant with policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate budget planning and explanation of variances on monthly basis.

  • Accountable for the calculation and submission of data for all trainees

  • Distribute pertinent schedules and percentages to affiliate sites

  • Oversee ACGME data collection, submission and preparation of site reviews.

  • Supervise the utilization of the electronic residency management system.

  • Oversee the ERAS application process.

  • Supervise the preparation of all interviews and applicant correspondence and prepare the match materials to be submitted electronically to NMS.

  • Issue first-year contracts and track all other documentation relative to incoming first-year residents.

  • Manage all current medical school agreements and develop agreements with other schools as necessary.

  • Oversee the medical student/physician rotations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree - Required

  • Bachelors Degree - Preferred

  • 5 years experience in Business Administration -Required -AND/OR-

  • 2 years Graduate Medical Education or Business Management - Required

  • Knowledge of Medical Practice Standards, laws, regulations or policies impacting healthcare - Preferred
