Job Responsibilities

Build, shape and lead the Global Marketing team to drive a variety of marketing campaigns for Koppers as well as its Customers across the globe to build product and brand awareness and drive demand. 
 

  • Develops and executes a global marketing strategic plan, partnering with product line management, corporate and regional marketing, IT/Digital and commercial teams in each region. This plan should align with and support the broader company strategic plan and growth initiatives.
  • Takes responsibility for the global marketing function including activities that cover corporate communications through traditional print, digital and social media platforms, (internal and external), branding, content creation, events, digital marketing, lead generation, partner marketing and sponsorships. 
  • Leverages leadership skills and experiences to continuously improve the marketing function including talent, structure, processes, tools and techniques.
  • Defines specific goals for the marketing organization and measure the commercial and brand impact of marketing initiatives using well-defined metrics and KPIs.
  • Understands the competitive landscape and define approaches to differentiate our value-propositions in the marketplace.
  • Collaborates with channel partners to generate demand for our products with end-users in diverse markets.
  • Manages the global marketing budget to plan, working closely with regional leaders to optimize marketing spend.
  • Produces creative concepts, copy, and script writing.
  • Manages projects in the Marketing Department.
  • Leads miscellaneous field activities 
  • Answers technical questions from consumers and customers.
  • Provides internet support for company websites.
  • Studies demographic and demand of product.
  • Responsible for trade shows and association work to be coordinated with Regional Business Leaders
  • Provides product knowledge training.
  • Supervises specialty products and literature distribution. 
  • Research and analyze the market.
  • Write press release and crisis response communications 
  • Manages corporate and personal expenses and expenditures prudently in accordance with corporate, division, or management guidelines or directives.
  • Professionally represent company at industry meetings, trade associations, etc., as assigned or requested.
  • Manages marketing team. 
  • Procures and oversees outside resources including print and web designers, photographers, and production personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a Business-related field from an accredited college or university 
  • 10-15 years’ Marketing experience  
  • Leadership experience in a marketing role. 
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to set direction and develop the team. 
  • Strategic mindset and high business acumen. 
  • High level of project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with ability to build relationships and trust across the organization. 
  • Ability to drive change and engagement. 
  • Good knowledge and understanding of digital systems and tools such as CRM, SEO, Marketing Automation, and digital analytics. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ideally experience in sales lead generation. 
  • Ability to travel as needed in order to be efficient in the role. 
  • Ability to write and review copy of brochures and other print or website materials. 
  • Ability to effectively work with, and maintain the confidentiality of, sensitive materials and information. 
  • Be capable of effectively communicating in writing or speaking to various government, industry, customer, public, or employee groups. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.   
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.   
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public. 
  • Ability to work with all levels of employment in all company locations. 
  • Knowledge of appropriate software applications. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines, good organizational and follow-up skills, be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks. 
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours and travel overnight as necessary to achieve desired results or as requested by management.
  • Ability to travel at least 30%
