TEGNA Inc. is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead financial operations, planning, and analytics across our diverse portfolio of digital products. This pivotal role will support the company's goal to drive growth in digital revenue streams and enhance operational efficiency. The Director of Finance will work closely with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Chief Experience Officer (CXO), and senior executive management to inform key business decisions and optimize financial performance. This role requires a deep understanding of digital finance, including financial modeling, revenue analytics, and budgeting in the context of the evolving digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary digital finance business partner to the CRO and CXO, delivering actionable, data-driven insights to drive digital revenue growth and inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead digital revenue analytics across all product lines, identifying key growth opportunities, risks, and market trends. Develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing digital product performance and maximizing revenue potential.
  • Oversee weekly and monthly revenue forecasting, leveraging in-depth analysis of digital product performance, market dynamics, and business unit trends.
  • Lead the budgeting and estimating processes for all digital revenue streams across the company's business units, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the corporate financial objectives.
  • Work closely with the corporate revenue team and the product teams on budget materials, deliverables, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Conduct comprehensive performance analysis of digital products, tracking and analyzing business indicators (BIs) to support sales performance improvements. Provide actionable insights regarding rate/volume analysis, retention, and customer attribution models.
  • Develop pricing models and unit economics for all digital products considering market conditions.
  • Manage key centralized cost centers supporting the digital products, including sales, product, etc. Ensure all expenses are accurately accounted for during each month end close.
  • Participate in special projects as needed to support corporate financial objectives.
  • Manage and mentor a team of analysts, ensuring their career development, performance, and training.
  • Build strong working relationships across finance, sales, and executive leadership teams.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of finance management experience, with significant exposure to digital products and revenue models.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • Proven expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and revenue analysis, with a track record of exceeding financial goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence decision-making.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
