We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to oversee our accounting, finance operations and FP&A functions. This role will take full ownership of day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning and modeling. Additionally, the role will focus on profitability analysis for business segments and develop, implement, and maintain client pricing models as well as collaborate with functional leaders for continuous improvements and savings. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, analytical thinker with a solid understanding of the insurance industry and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting & Compliance:
  • Build out an efficient finance function including evaluating current talent and sourcing the right skillsets for accounting, finance operations and FP&A
  • Manage the month end close process across the direct businesses, including supporting the preparation, review, and finalization of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Collaborate with other corporate accounting teams on functions pertaining to accounts payable, procurement, treasury, payroll, general accounting and FP&A.
  • Maintain and enhance the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Assist and drive the evaluation, management and maintenance of software tools for effective and efficient accounting and financial reporting.
  • Lead the year-end financial audit with external auditors and internal staff with no material inadequacies.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, automation and standardization that will result in greater efficiencies as well as ensure the accuracy of financial statements to decrease exposure to financial misstatements and insure a close time cycle aligned with corporate.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
    • Assist in analysis and growth of the business through enhanced reporting and due diligence for potential M&A and client onboarding.
    • Lead FP&A activities, including financial reporting, variance analyses, client profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
    • Build, implement and maintain client pricing models to support financial decision-making and client partnerships.
    • Lead fiscal responsibility efforts with functional leaders across Insurtech including analysis and modeling of potential solutions/savings
  • Business Partnering:
    • Foster relationships with business leaders to ensure finance is acting as a partner to the business.
    • Develop and enhance relationships with clients to ensure billing and other finance needs are met, as well as keeping a pulse on any foreseeable impacts to the business.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • Strong month end close experience including multi sub consolidations
  • Experience building and leading effective and efficient teams
  • Financial Planning and Analysis experience preferred
  • US GAAP and FASB knowledge
  • Experience with NetSuite is preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in complex multi entity organization
  • Insurance service industry experience a plus
  • Cross-functional experience operating in a complex organization
  • Strong project management, planning and organization skills, including ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Continuous improvement attitude: ability to seek out and implement internal or external best practices
  • Strong analytical ability and perseverance to solve problems with high attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to ethics and integrity


This position is Hybrid. 3 days in the office.
