The Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Engineering - Analytics to lead our analytics engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive the effective use of data analytics across the organization. This role will oversee the design, development, and deployment of analytics solutions that provide actionable insights to support business decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
● Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
● Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of analytics infrastructure.
● Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance analytics capabilities.
● Help define and implement the analytics infrastructure and engineering strategy, concentrating on scalable data architecture, robust analytics frameworks, and the integration of advanced machine learning capabilities.
● Collaborate with senior product leadership to identify and prioritize analytics initiatives that drive business value.
● Develop project plans to deliver analytics solutions on time and within budget.
● Lead, mentor, and manage a team of analysts and data engineers.
● Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence within the analytics engineering team.
● Develop and execute the team’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
● Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and business units, to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
● Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
● Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.
● Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for analytics initiatives.
● Continuously optimize data processing workflows and analytics models for improved performance and accuracy.
● Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
● 15+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role in analytics programs
● Demonstrable experience leading teams to deliver best-in-class, customer-facing analytics products to enterprise customers
● Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
● Expertise with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
● Experience in data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.
