Job Description:

Position Overview: 

The Director of R&D will play a key leadership role in strategy, team building, development process and growth through innovation. This individual will oversee all research, development, and innovation activities to ensure alignment with company goals, customer needs, and industry trends.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, strategic, and ready to lead day one in technical team building and process innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an R&D strategy in alignment with Tibersoft’s vision and business objectives.

• Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective delivery.
• Drive innovation in product features and architecture to improve user experience and market competitiveness.
• Ensure the team adheres to industry best practices, including agile development, CI/CD, and quality assurance protocols.

• Implement process and documentation standards aligned with SOC and GRC objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional team of developers, QA and production operations professionals.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Recruit and retain top technical talent to scale the team as needed.

• Engage with customers, partners, and stakeholders to gather feedback and understand market needs.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable development plans and product features.

• Manage the R&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Evaluate and implement tools, technologies, and methodologies to optimize team performance.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Data Science
• 10+ years of experience in software in a leadership role managing teams of 15+ engineers.
• Background in AI/ML model development resulting in commercially available products.
• Strong proficiency with data processing technologies, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, code versioning, automated testing, and release management
• Extensive background in hiring, training and building onshore and offshore teams.
•  Strong with agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira.
• Experience with SOC/GRC/Security leadership/transformation.
• Vertical market software, SaaS or food industry experience is a plus.
