Job Description
The Director of Business Development will play an essential role within the Growth Team at VillageMD. You will be a leader that is accountable for three main functions: Broker Relations and Other BD functions.
The scope of the role could include managing a team of Senior Managers, and Managers, among others, in a region or territory, with multiple sites in a certain geography. This role will be closely aligned in executing growth initiatives under the leadership of the VP or Senior Director of Business Development.
Leading Broker Relations, the Director of Business Development will:
- Have a strong record of success in relationship management and consultative selling through senior executive decision-makers
- Be highly comfortable and confident in communicating effectively with all levels of stakeholders to nurture, develop, and grow relationships on behalf of VMD
- Have demonstrated success in the managed care market, either selling, managing relationships, or developing a strategy with payers
- Strategically build partnerships with FMO’s and the Brokers community.
- Closely align and work with the Outreach Team to develop broker relationships in the community to drive panel growth, specifically Medicare/MA Growth.
- Review daily metrics and dashboards, support all growth initiatives in their area, and make certain their teams operate effectively and successfully.
- Build pipeline and tasks to ensure maximizing growth opportunities
- Work closely with the Senior Director and/or Vice President of Business Development to strategically review and optimize processes within the Department.
- During AEP, they will work closely with the team to connect and present at Payor Rollouts and all FMO and Agency kickoffs.
- During AEP, and upon the direction of their SD or VP, they will be responsible for developing volume strategies by inferring market dynamics in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Be a representative in the local community for Village Medical—building relationships with other healthcare providers, social/community organizations, and marketing partners
- Implementation of growth initiatives in the area (Network, Affiliates, Partnerships)
- Strongly advocate for the clinics, teams, and patients
Leading “Other BD” functions, the Director of Business Development will:
- Be responsible for growth with local market expertise, driving face-to-face interactions in the field with the community. The role will work with the broader Growth team, Clinical and Operating leads by market to execute growth strategies to drive the following KPIs: Increase Provider Count, Improve EBITDA and Grow Medicare + MA lives
- Support in generating leads for the Central Recruitment and the Central Acquisitions Teams
- Use their local market expertise to execute growth initiatives such as, but not limited to, Direct-to-Employer strategies and Affiliates Agreement expansion, networks, among others.
Experience to drive change
- Bachelor’s degree required, focus in healthcare preferred
- Professional experience in healthcare required.
- At least 5 years in a sales/network role or other similar positions in healthcare
- Analytical approach towards performance and sales data
- Ability to hit sales targets in addition to management responsibility
- Excellent management skills with the ability to train and motivate people on your team
- Up to 25% travel across the Texas Growth markets.
- Willing to work some weekends and nights when needed for events
- Able and willing to travel to different areas covered by your team and when needed other markets. Must own a vehicle, mileage is reimbursed
- Highest degree of honesty, integrity, and fairness
- Fluency in Spanish to serve patients in the communities we operate in where necessary preferred but not required
This is an exempt position. The base compensation range for this role is $125,100 to $156,400. At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. The selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan.
