Your Opportunity

Scion is the leader in off-campus student housing communities globally and a sector leader in leveraging analytics to drive business performance. We are seeking a Director of Analytics to lead our B.I. and Data Science teams in advancing the company’s decision science capabilities.

The Director of Analytics will report to the Senior Vice President of Revenue Management and is based in our Chicago central office.

Your Responsibilities 

People and Team Management

  • Lead a high performing team comprised of Business Intelligence and Data Science professionals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for third party analytics partner, ensuring alignment with strategic plan and near-term priorities.
  • Partner across departments, foster a culture of inclusion, innovation and continuous improvement.

Functional Operations

  • Oversee the analytics teams and ensure alignment with business goals and strategic roadmap.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for best practices related to analytics and the scientific process.
  • Define and implement standards & best practices for execution and appropriate use of analytics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify needs and opportunities.
  • Present data-driven insights to the executive team, investors, and operations.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics. Experience in quantitative and qualitative analytics preferred.
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer sectors such as Hospitality, Gaming, Sports, Retail, or CPG.
  • Direct experience in building predictive demand models, pricing optimization, and performance analytics.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms & frameworks (Python, R, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau, Power B.I. or other comparable capabilities).

Operational Details

  • Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters.
  • Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours.
