The Director of Analytical Financial Modeling will conduct analyses focused on predicting, optimizing and understanding financial performance and key financial metrics. This role is part of the finance team, and will collaborate cross-functionally within the organization to deliver actionable insights that help meet company goals. Upon joining the team, a successful Director will quickly develop a deep understanding of the business, build and design the architecture for predictive settlement and collection models, and effectively communicate results and present recommendations to senior executives.

The ideal candidate will be a results-driven, strategic thinker able to thrive in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment. Exceptional candidates will have best-in-class predictive modeling and data skills including SQL, Python,  Excel, dataset manipulation, data visualization, and presentation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own, design and build sophisticated data models to predict the KPIs of our products
  • Build and lead a team of data and analytics professionals conducting financial analyses to inform a detailed financial operating model.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and AI/ML techniques to large data sets to measure results, identify causality, and predict future performance
  • Develop KPI reporting and dashboards to clearly communicate trends and drivers that will impact future performance of the product.
  • Re-define and challenge company KPIs that are critical to achieving company and business unit performance goals
  • Conduct and present data-driven analysis and recommend actionable opportunities for non-analytical partners
  • Work closely with business leaders to prepare ongoing and ad hoc reporting and KPI measures
  • Identify opportunities to efficiently organize and present key data and trends
  • Train and mentor staff in financial/operational analysis and complex modeling

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Proven record of predictive modeling and data-driven analyses, and delivering actionable insights that lead to measurable results
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM, or other analytical field
  • 7 – 10+ years professional experience in quantitative predictive modeling and
  • Experience in developing and maintaining clear documentation for models, model validation, project plans and processes
  • Prior experience in strategy consulting, financial services, or start-up environments preferred
  • Best-in-class data and programming skills including Python, R, SQL, Excel, dataset manipulation, data visualization, and presentation
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company
  • An ownership mindset, experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, and proven record of successful, rapid execution
  • Able to build relationships across the business to drive influence data-driven decision making
