Tomorrow.io’s Finance and Accounting Team supports all teams globally with relevant and timely financial data in order to make informed business decisions. We interact with each team at the Company and provide support across all business units, focused on tracking key metrics to drive our goals forward. We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Director of Accounting to lead the Accounting team. This is a high growth, fast paced startup allowing you to gain valuable experience across multiple processes (GAAP Accounting, International Compliance, NetSuite, Project Management, Inventory, Payroll, Equity).
As the Director of Accounting at Tomorrow.io, you will be a key member of the corporate team, owning critical parts of the business operations, and will have direct impact across all departments and business units. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our executive team and will play an important role as we scale our business.
Please note that this is a hybrid position based out of our Boston Headquarters, and the Finance team collaborates onsite a minimum of 2x per week.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage the Accounting team’s roles and responsibilities, review the team’s work, establish growth plans
- Own monthly financial close process and handoff to FP&A. Establish best practices for monthly entries and tasks
- Lead annual audit, income tax, insurance and 401(k) workstreams
- Manage the Company’s stock option database, including compliance filings and accounting reports
- Oversee US payroll systems and processes
- Work closely with the government project management team to provide the necessary reporting and analytics for our government customers
- Oversee foreign entities compliance requirements and reporting
- Collaborate with FP&A Manager for monthly reporting best practices and other ad hoc forecasting needs
- Manage Company’s accounting policies, and evaluate for process and system improvements
- Lead NetSuite software modules and upgrades, own the relationship with consultants
- Perform ad hoc finance projects at direction of CFO
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting
- Minimum 8 years work experience, with 5 years work experience in Government, Manufacturing, SaaS-related industry and/or public company
- NetSuite experience required; preferably experience implementing software tools
- Demonstrated success collaborating with varied teams, ideally with international experience
- Advanced quantitative skills with a passion for using data to drive better decision-making
- Public Accounting experience preferred
- Bonus: Government contract experience and/or familiarity with job costing reporting
