Job Description - Senior Manager, Digital Storyteller
In this position, you will play a central role in building Takeda's reputation internally and externally by developing and disseminating creative and compelling content and stories that resonate with key stakeholders. Your experience in digital content strategy and storytelling will be critical to your success in the role. This position reports directly to the Chief Storyteller, ContentLAB, Global Corporate Brand & Content and is based on Cambridge, MA with a hybrid in-office schedule.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Understand and help execute ContentLAB's audience-based digital storytelling strategy.
  • Build and maintain a network of sources across the company, as well as strong relationships with key internal and external channel "owners."
  • Identify and pitch story ideas aligned to Takeda's distinctive positioning, business objectives and priority ContentLAB story themes and audiences.
  • Produce a consistent cadence of high-quality content for publication across our global digital channels. This includes executing the ContentLAB strategy of prioritizing reputation-enhancing, business-driving topics, conducting interviews as needed, using data/insights to determine appropriate format and channels, drafting stories and accompanying content, identifying visuals to accompany or constitute the story, obtaining necessary reviews, and managing logistics for publication/posting on the company's internal and/or external channels.
  • Manage amplification strategy for each story in collaboration with social media and corporate marketing teams, as well as by liaising with business unit communicators to re-promote stories in internal newsletters and other forums, where appropriate.
  • Use data-driven insights to propose, create, and continually optimize content to improve audience engagement across storytelling channels and approaches.
  • Learn/leverage Riverside video capabilities and other creative platforms to support visual storytelling within the ContentLAB.


Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to weekly editorial meetings.
  • Ensure efficient workflow and clear timelines for assigned content/stories and for those created by outside agency resources.
    • Follow ContentLAB processes for content development, scheduling, storage, and life-cycle management.
  • Faithfully follow ContentLAB voice and formatting guidelines.
    • Contribute to team operations responsibilities and recommend process enhancements to improve team ways of working.
  • Serve as backup manager of global employee newsletter when needed.


EDUCATION
The successful candidate will have most or all of the below:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Journalism/Communications/Public Relations/Marketing or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
  • Proven writing, copyediting and proofreading skills in alignment with AP style.
  • Visual storytelling capabilities, including experience with video production.
  • Proven digital, audience-based channel execution skills.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare industry, with a thorough grounding in the complexities and issues relating to operating in a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment across geographies and time zones.
  • An exceptionally strong eye for detail, with solid strategic, analytical and planning skills, as well as a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Strong project management experience, including oversight of a number of programs/projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to deliver in high-pressure situations and with short deadlines.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
