Colorado’s Sports leader (9NEWS/KUSA-TV) is looking for a Digital Sports Producer who is a highly motivated and creative individual responsible for developing and executing engaging sports content across various digital platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of the sports landscape, excellent storytelling abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality content that resonates with audiences. The producer will collaborate with reporters, producers, and the Digital Desk to create compelling videos, articles, social media posts, and other digital experiences. The candidate must also be able to shoot and edit video content for newscasts and digital/social platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Content Creation: Produce a wide range of digital sports content, including short-form and long-form videos, written articles, social media updates, graphics, podcasts, and interactive content. Also, shooting and editing video for newscasts.
• Storytelling: Develop compelling narratives around sporting events, athletes, teams, and trends, ensuring content is informative, engaging, and relevant to target audiences.
• Planning & Execution: Manage the entire content production process, from ideation and planning to execution, editing, and distribution.
• Platform Optimization: Tailor content for specific digital platforms (website, social media, mobile apps, etc.), optimizing for audience engagement and platform best practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with reporters, producers, teams/schools, and other team members to ensure seamless content creation and delivery.
• Social Media Management: Contribute to social media strategy and execution, creating engaging posts, monitoring trends, and interacting with followers.
• Staying Current: Stay up-to-date on the latest sports news with all local teams (professional/college/high school), trends, and digital media technologies.
• Live Event Coverage: Potentially contribute to live event coverage, including on-site reporting, social media updates, and video production.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Production, or a related field.
• Proven experience in digital content creation, preferably in the sports industry.
• Strong understanding of various sports and a passion for sports storytelling.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and other relevant digital tools.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• 1-3 years or more experience
• Proficiency in AP style is a plus as well as experience with live event coverage.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, CANVA).
• Experience with podcast production.
• Experience with live streaming software (VMIX or OBS) is a plus.
• Shooting and editing video.
• Creating memorable content.

Pay Range
$22.65—$27.50 USD
