Responsibilities:

  • Ensures, in collaboration with R&M leadership, the prioritization of the technology projects for the department, including quarterly re-evaluations conversations on the objectives set, and provides regular reporting/insights on the technology roadmap for the R&M department. All platforms used by the R&M teams are in scope (Canvas, ADA, SIG, PDBs, etc.).
  • Leads conversations with the relevant stakeholders within and outside R&M to implement the R&M technology roadmap and monitors progress.
  • Provides ongoing problem-solving R&M support for the technology roadmap from a business perspective (reprioritizing, negotiating, championing objectives, etc.). Collaborates with R&M leadership/managers/sub-teams to ensure SME support for the technology projects.
  • Represents the point of contact on technology items for the Technology, Product, and Data teams.
  • Contributes to formulating and delivering the Research Team's Artificial Intelligence agenda through the design, enhancement or redesign of automation and smart technology applications, in collaboration with the Technology teams.
  • Oversees:
    • the R&M business process requirements for technology development;
    • the conversations led by the R&M Business Analysts with business stakeholders to understand potential areas in need of improvement that can be mitigated through technology;
    • the user acceptance tests for technology development impacting business processes.
  • Leads the oversight of research platform errors and bugs affecting R&M business processes and supports business and technology stakeholders in the resolution process.
  • Assesses non-R&M technology-driven developments that concern platforms used by R&M and evaluates any impact on R&M processes.
  • Manages and mentors a team of up to 4-5 business analysts.


Required skills:

  • 6+ years' experience in ICT-related roles, with a proven track record of either business analysis or release management.
  • 3+ years' experience in people management is a plus.
  • Master the data technology and related development processes: how development works, user stories, key stakeholders and roles, agile vs. waterfall methodologies, the distinction between front-end and back-end, the interplay between platform functionalities, data synchronization processes, etc.
  • Structured and critical thinker with strong analytical and conceptual capabilities as well as problem-solving skills in an information systems environment; innovative and creative thinking, out-of-box-thinking welcome.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with ease and manage competing interests to deliver strategic projects efficiently and effectively, compromising where needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, individually as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of working with a diverse set of stakeholders, engage/connect and build effective relations at different levels. Is used to operate in an international environment.
  • Strong project management and execution skills, setting clear priorities, and being results-oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills; experience with project/process planning tools (Jira, Jira Align) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and within a strong team environment.
  • General leadership skills: embracing responsibility/accountability as well as decision-making.
  • Positive attitude to change, with a 'can do' attitude and proactively addresses challenges.
