About The Opportunity

Position Summary
Responsible for setting up and operating digital flatbed printing press and operate CAD die cutting table to cut out parts to a specified size and shape, and perform scoring and face cutting on a variety of materials to written and/or verbal instructions, established company procedure, safety and quality guidelines.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position.  The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrates commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
  • Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively
  • Verify job specifications such as size, colour and type of paper and colour of ink from job order
  • Obtain substrate and related supplies needed to produce the job
  • Set up press according to established company guide lines, safety and job requirements
  • Print proof sheets to check press setup
  • Adjust and/or correct colour when needed using press set up, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Press to Touch to achieve company and customer satisfaction
  • Print job maintaining optimum production rate, colour density, registration, and quality standard within company and customer guidelines, and make press adjustments as required
  • Prepare die line using Artios to differentiate cut and crease scores
  • Work with Artios CAD system to troubleshoot die layouts based on customer requirements and production capability
  • Prepare and adjust cutting table for the production run using the provided die lines as required
  • Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment
  • Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned equipment and surrounding area
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
  • Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Good judgment of color, design and printing quality
  • Understand and perform basic math
  • Computer skills

Education & Experience

  •  High School Diploma or Equivalent

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in a factory and/or warehouse setting
  • Be exposed to moving machinery, and high noise levels
  • Lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Standing, stooping (Kneeling), walking, and lifting on a daily basis
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
