Job Summary:

The Digital Press Operator is responsible for the set-up, and operation of the digital press and related equipment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Reads and understands job tickets to guarantee the correct product is produced based on customer specifications.
  • Run and monitor digital press to verify quality, productivity, and waste to meet established requirements.
  • Manage press speed, monitor toner/ink, color, finish, and adjust to maintain quality.
  • Visually inspect the product throughout the run for quality checks, registration, ink coverage, and number sequencing. 
  • Perform color calibrations and maintain consistent color output. 
  • Identify root causes of errors and subsequent corrective action.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory and keep consumables readily stocked.
  • Address all production, scheduling, quality, and maintenance problems.
  • Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects. 
  • Accurately interpret, document, and communicate diagnostic feedback from equipment and act upon information to resolve production, maintenance, and repair issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs with service technicians.
  • Maintain safety, quality, maintenance, and good manufacturing practices. 

Qualifications: 

  • Basic computer skills, understanding of digital file formats, and mechanical aptitude required. 
  • Ability to read and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Mathematic skills to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret graphs. 
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Good verbal and written comprehension to understand job orders and follow detailed instructions.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish between different colors.
  • Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience in digital printing required. 
  • Experience with Canon Digital Press, Xiekon, Komori, or Large Format encouraged to apply.
  • Lead or supervisory experience encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements: Standing-80%, Walking-20%, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling 70lbs.

Job Type: Full Time 
Shift Available & Schedule: 2nd shift: 4:00pm-12:00am
