Job Summary:
Zoro is seeking a Digital Merchandising Manager for Invest Categories to lead merchandising efforts (from strategy development through execution) for key categories in our assortment. The Digital Merchandising Manager is the Category Subject Matter Expert and demonstrates a deep category-level understanding of 1) shopping behavior 2) customer insights and 3) product knowledge. The ideal candidate is a strategic-thinker, analytical, curious, and motivated to drive business & customer outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a Merchandising Strategy to drive conversion and revenue growth backed by data & insights for Zoro’s most complex and valuable product categories or customer segments. Strategy includes: optimized product presentations, navigational hierarchy, attribution, assets & enhanced content, product relationships, onsite search relevancy, and more, driven by a deep understanding of customer buying behaviors and competitive research. Lead the documentation, distribution and presentation of this view with key business partners, and direct its implementation.
- Marry customer needs with digital merchandising best practices, and help define best-in-class online experiences through constant test/learn/iterate strategies.
- Improve product findability allowing customers to effectively and quickly search and navigate to the right product on Zoro.com. Monitor category search trends and performance, enhance product data and taxonomy to return the most relevant results and facets, and collaborate with Product teams to optimize presentation.
- Drive improved category performance (add-to-cart, conversion, revenue, bounce rate, and AOV) by leveraging data & insights to test and improve how customers find & buy products within target categories. Analyze and share results with key partners to recap work, understand impact, pivot where needed, and inform new opportunities. Share the “why” behind strategic decisions with a clear connection for how they align to team priorities and company-wide goals. Regularly present company-wide and to leadership on category insights, performance and lessons learned.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance the customer experience, product assortment, and marketing strategy for target categories.
- Manage key Zoro projects and initiatives by coordinating stakeholders, keeping projects moving and on schedule, and communicating progress and results
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or advanced, holistic knowledge of ecommerce with 5-7 yrs. experience in digital merchandising or onsite product ownership, preferably in B2B industrial supply/MRO
- Experience creating and executing Merchandising Roadmaps and working closely with Digital Product teams to optimize the onsite experience for customers
- Skilled at working with extremely large data-sets for analysis to drive strategies and business decisions; ability to write SQL queries a plus
- Advanced knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Looker or Sitecatalyst), product information management systems (PIM) and content management systems (CMS)
