As a Digital Knowledge Management Specialist, you will focus on organizing, managing, and enhancing the digital knowledge resources for the Adi platform of solutions (and, more broadly, Alcon Vision Suite [AVS]). This role involves leveraging digital tools and technologies to capture, store, share, and disseminate knowledge, ensuring that it is accessible and useful for decision-making, collaboration, and innovation.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Knowledge Capture & Organization:
- Collect, organize, and categorize knowledge resources (documents, data, multimedia) in a digital format.
- Develop and maintain digital repositories, knowledge bases, and document management systems.
- Ensure content is updated regularly and accurately.
Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration:
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing practices across teams and departments through digital platforms (e.g., intranet, SharePoint, collaboration tools).
- Encourage and manage online forums, communities of practice, or virtual teams for knowledge exchange.
- Promote and assist in the use of collaborative tools to enhance information flow.
Digital Tools & Technology Management:
- Evaluate and implement digital knowledge management tools and platforms.
- Provide support and training to employees on using digital knowledge management systems.
- Ensure the tools align with organizational needs and improve knowledge accessibility.
Content Creation & Curation:
- Develop and curate content to make knowledge more accessible (e.g., FAQs, how-to guides, best practices, case studies).
- Ensure content is user-friendly and aligned with organizational standards.
- Optimize digital knowledge resources for searchability and ease of use.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
- Track usage and engagement of digital knowledge management tools and platforms.
- Analyze trends and user feedback to improve knowledge sharing and management practices.
- Prepare reports on knowledge management metrics for management and stakeholders.
Change Management & Training:
- Lead initiatives to encourage a knowledge-sharing culture within the organization.
- Design and deliver training programs to employees on effective knowledge management practices and tools.
- Manage change processes related to the introduction of new digital knowledge management systems.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure that knowledge management practices comply with organizational policies, data security, and privacy regulations.
- Monitor the quality of knowledge content to ensure it meets defined standards.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience in digital knowledge management, information technology, training and education, or a related role
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Familiarity with knowledge management systems and digital collaboration tools is essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification or experience with digital health platforms or healthcare technology solutions.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare provider organization or with healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and customer success platforms.
