10 Tampa Bay/WTSP, TEGNA’s CBS affiliate in Tampa, Florida, is seeking a Digital Executive Producer with a strong background in streaming media to join our dynamic team. This role will report directly to the Statewide Digital Director and will be pivotal in shaping our digital content strategy across our website, mobile applications, streaming services, and social media platforms.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned journalist with a passion for innovative storytelling and a proven track record in digital content production, particularly in streaming environments. You will lead a team of digital producers, guiding them in content creation while identifying and capitalizing on audience engagement opportunities.

*This position typically follows a Monday-Friday schedule from 9 AM to 6 PM, but flexibility is required to cover early or late shifts, weekends, and holidays as news demands dictate.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day production of news content, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and timely delivery across all digital platforms, especially streaming services.
  • Audience Engagement: Utilize audience analytics tools and SEO strategies to inform editorial decisions, monitor digital trends, and discover new story ideas that resonate with viewers.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with newsroom staff and digital team members to prioritize tasks and coordinate coverage plans for breaking news, weather, sports, and political events.
  • Mentorship: Coach and guide reporters and content creators in digital content needs, encouraging audience-focused decisions and enhancing their storytelling skills.
  • Digital Innovation: Lead the charge in advanced digital production and innovative storytelling methods, including the creation of interactive and engaging content tailored for streaming.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and manage digital projects, ensuring seamless execution from concept through publication, including livestream setups and programming for our streaming app.
  • Content Creation: Actively contribute to content production by creating, packaging, editing, and publishing digital content, clips from newscasts, managing social media content, and sending out push alerts and newsletters.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all digital content adheres to AP style and professional journalism standards, maintaining a high level of accuracy and credibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of digital content production experience in a fast-paced news environment, with a focus on streaming media.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce engaging content quickly and accurately.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with content management systems, photo and video editing software, and social media platforms.
  • Proven ability to analyze digital metrics and audience data to drive editorial decisions.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and social media listening tools.
  • A deep understanding of the evolving digital landscape and trends in audience engagement.
