Great American's Corporate Marketing and Branding department is seeking a Digital Content Developer to work a hybrid schedule from the Cincinnati office (three days a week in the office, two days remote).

This position will play a critical role in the strategic expansion of the public-facing website at www.GAIG.com. As part of the Corporate Marketing & Branding department, this marketing technical position will assist with development and code website designs for various business units within Great American Insurance Group to support divisional initiatives that aim to increase brand awareness of Great American’s wide array of specialty insurance products and services.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Designs, programs, builds, and deploys software applications and systems that support various business and insurance processes.
  • Implements new features and functionalities based on business requirements, enhancing the overall user experience. Ensures seamless integration of new applications with existing systems, minimizing disruptions to business operations.
  • Supports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements 
  • Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and implement integration solutions that enhance data flow and system interoperability.
  • Monitors and optimizes application performance, identifying and resolving any issues that may impact system efficiency. Conducts regular performance assessments and implements improvements to ensure applications run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Provides technical support to end-users, addressing and resolving application-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Develops and maintains documentation for troubleshooting procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborates with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements. Provides regular updates on project status and progress.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements solutions that enhance overall system performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering and/or application engineering. Scope of Job/Qualifications: Demonstrates proficiency in multiple programming languages. Experience with cloud platforms and modern development frameworks. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Develops time estimates and other project management elements for moderately complex project deliverables.  Provides technical expertise across a range of applications, systems and/or technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues. Demonstrates understanding of machine learning concepts and their software engineering implications. Requires a high level of understanding of organization's business and technology operations.

Must have experience in web development using modern development tools and practices such as: 

  • Well-versed in front-end programming languages including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with ASP.NET web applications (Sitefinity preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Bootstrap frameworkKnowledge of MVC and .NET Core frameworks is a plus.
  • Awareness of Web Accessibility compliance standards
  • Understands the fundamentals of SEO best practices

This job is non-exempt in California.
