VetsEZ is seeking a remote DevSecOps Engineer to be a part of a team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will integrate security practices within the DevOps pipeline and ensure the seamless deployment of secure and reliable software systems.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls to ensure secure and efficient deployment of software solutions.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to automate security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance validation.
- Configure and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to support deployment automation.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) with a focus on security best practices.
- Monitor and enhance system performance, reliability, and security through continuous monitoring tools and techniques.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of DevSecOps processes, configurations, and security measures.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on secure DevOps practices and technologies.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience is required.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and secure coding standards.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies.
- The following certifications are a plus: AWS certification, Azure certification, etc.
- Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder and DevSecOps environment.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance.
