Job Summary

We are recruiting a DevRel Manager who will join our team to put our inbound motion on overdrive. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, fast worker and excited about growing a company from the ground up. The role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer. We are open to full time US based candidates to work as a dedicated full-time employee. Most of our staff reside in the Mountain or Pacific time zone but we are open to any US location.

The DevRel Manager will manage and grow a high-performing team, write great content, learn from customers to improve the self-serve user experience and participate in our growing developer community. This growing company needs a full-time, roll-up-your-sleeves pro with a diverse background, ideally scaling an organization through multiple stages (i.e. seven-figure, eight-figure, and nine-figure revenue). We are growing rapidly and you will have a direct hand in ensuring a whole new generation of developers and engineering teams know and can learn more about FusionAuth.

We are looking for someone that has done this before for this critical newly created role.

  1. Created and measured the success of DevRel to support the company’s main goals 
  2. Built a strong inbound motion through content, events and the documentation experience for developers 
  3. Facilitated strong collaboration across GTM and technical teams

  • able to speak knowledgeably on authentication, authorization and user management
  • been in hyper growth recurring revenue tech startup companies;
  • seasoned at writing, and at leading remote employees 
  • able to roll up your sleeves and getting things done in early days while also seeing the bigger picture;
  • well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to drive things to completion
  • a vision of what the organization needs 18-24 months out and can execute the plan to get there.

Responsibilities

  • Create and measure the success of DevRel projects
  • Orient DevRel efforts toward the businesses’ inbound growth and developer experience goals
  • Align DevRel priorities and activities to the company’s strategic goals and growth
  • Manage a high-performing DevRel team 
  • Be an authority on the product and the authentication/identity space
  • Align resources and contribute to content, events and documentation strategy
  • Strategic planning, milestone-setting and driving execution of content deliverables, events, and documentation efforts as well as clearly delineating DevRel responsibilities vs Sales Engineering and Product/Engineering
  • Own the management and project planning of external vendor relationships for SDK and documentation maintenance

Qualifications

  • Possession of a solid foundation in a modern software language
  • Experience leading a distributed team
  • 1+ years in a DevRel role
  • 3+ years leading teams
  • 8+ years technical experience
  • Experience in the authentication/identity space
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills
  • Exceptional project management, planning, and budgeting skills
  • A strong sense of urgency and ownership over projects and deliverables
  • High-level of integrity and a humble ethical person
  • Ability to travel from 15-25%

Compensation

  • $160-190k expected base salary range*

Our Westminster, CO office is a hybrid, a place for in-person collaboration. Local employees are in 1-3 times/week. Remote employees every few months. Daily workplace location is at the employee's discretion - wherever they can be most productive.
