The Position

DevOps Tech Lead

Poland plays the role of Technology Co-creation and Acceleration Hub building capabilities driving digital innovation. In Roche Informatics we are a diverse team of open and friendly people, enthusiastic about technological novelties and optimal IT solutions.

Our team comprises 7 DevOps engineers as well as 4 Testing engineers. The team develops a cloud-based platform for data scientists that allows them to easily do exploratory work (in R/Pyton) as well as work in the regulatory context (GxP). Our main focus is on providing our clients with consultancy,  permissions and a preconfigured environment so they can kick off their analysis without bothering about the infrastructure and its configuration as well as without any Cloud knowledge. 

The opportunity: 

We seek a highly skilled DevOps Tech Lead to join one of our product teams. This role requires a strong development background, a core technical mindset, and a solid understanding of technical architecture. On a daily basis you will be:

• Cooperating with other product streams to diagnose and understand their needs, proposing solutions and providing technological consultancy;

• Working closely with Business Analysts and Solution Architects on requirement gathering and providing technical expertise;

• Exemplary understanding of current trends, tools and practices in the area of DevOps and Cloud;

• Having experience in Cloud and on-premise infrastructure with medium to large global enterprises with global geographical topologies;

• Having experience in ensuring wide adoption of DevOps practices in large-scale platforms and organizations;

• Having experience in cloud adoption, cloud platform design, cloud management and monitoring across public, private and hybrid cloud deployments in corporate environments;

• Having proficiency with CI/CD, Infrastructure as a Code, containerization, orchestration, building DevOps toolchains and software development process automation;

• Effectively engaging, influencing and negotiating with business and IT Partners at all levels and promoting candid communication during creation of strategies and roadmaps;

• Knowing standards and ability to put good practices in the scope of designing the architecture of IT solutions.

Example projects you may work on:

• Leading teams delivering strategic Cloud solutions in the area of Pharma Development IT;

• Performing key roles in strategic projects focused on DevOps transformation;

• Designing and developing key automation and infrastructure solutions;

• Cooperation with business partners on the implementation of DevOps practices and improving organizational DevOps maturity;

• Defining security strategy for DevOps pipelines.

Who you are:

• You have In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS with a focus on services such as EKS, IAM, and Service Catalog.

• Strong proficiency in Python, focusing on automation and scripting.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is required.

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines - GitLab Pipelines and Jenkins are preferred.

• Ability to lead the integration of DevOps practices within the organization.

• Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform, and Ansible.

• Proficiency in Git

• Salary range 17 000 - 24 000 PLN gross based on the employment contract (Umowa o pracę), depending on qualifications and expertise.
