We are seeking a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will play a key role in automating, scaling, and optimizing our infrastructure and deployment pipelines. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of high-quality software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and secure deployments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
- Manage and optimize cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) to ensure high availability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure reliability and uptime.
- Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and orchestrate deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop and enforce security best practices across all environments.
- Create and maintain documentation for processes, tools, and configurations.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent production issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a DevOps, SRE, or equivalent role.
- Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI).
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Solid knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native services.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaboration tools (GitHub, GitLab).
- Understanding of networking, security best practices, and system monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
- Knowledge of observability tools and APM platforms (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, ELK).
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).

In support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $98,000.00 - $164,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
