Role Overview:
The Engineering DevOps Intern will assist in cataloging and managing existing utilities built in ReTool, ensuring that all code is properly stored in repositories. This initiative will mitigate risk, enhance system resilience, and establish a more structured development process for these critical tools. The intern will gain hands-on experience in software development operations, version control, and enterprise technology support, collaborating with Customer Support, Application Analysts, DevOps Engineers, QA Engineers, and Software Engineers. This internship is ideal for students looking to gain experience in DevOps, software operations, and enterprise IT management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Catalog existing ReTool utilities, documenting their functionality, dependencies, and use cases.
- Assist in migrating utility code to proper repositories, ensuring version control and structured code management.
- Work with DevOps engineers to implement best practices for source code management and deployment.
- Identify and document technical debt items, providing recommendations for process improvement.
- Support efforts to enhance system resilience and mitigate risks associated with tool failure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational needs and technical requirements.
- Contribute to establishing a robust development process for tool management and future enhancements.
- Assist in debugging, testing, and maintaining existing scripts and automation tools.
- Improve and maintain technical documentation, ensuring clarity and completeness for future use.
- Gain exposure to DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and software deployment processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Current college student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
- Ability to analyze and document technical systems and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or coursework in DevOps, software development, or IT operations.
- Understanding of ReTool or similar low-code development platforms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in AWS.
