Development Underwriter

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Supporting our New Tactics, you’ll be working for our newest in-house MGA brand, Nupro, a new insurer which will be disruptive to the small business insurance market as you manage pipelines of new brokers, visiting your Broker partners regularly, and underwriting both on a portfolio basis and on individual cases.

Supported by James (Head of New Markets MGA), you’ll be a self-starter who will be set clear expectations and goals for growth and be given the autonomy to execute on your plans. 

As our Development Underwriter, you’ll:

• be responsible for delivering rapid growth through broker partners
• adopt a positive and comprehensive underwriting approach with a focus on expanding the offering beyond today's appetite
• have autonomy to make decisions on what we execute on while being accountable for results
• be creative in growing an account, demonstrated through comfort in exploring data vigorously and aggregating broker feedback
• own and manage both internal and external relationships with key stakeholders

We’re looking for someone who is:

• from an Underwriting background able to manage and control the mechanics of a portfolio business
• a dynamic, enthusiastic and confident person who possesses the necessary intellect, approachability and personality 
• someone who demonstrates ownership, responsiveness, a bias to action, and commitment
• a confident communicator, able to lead and influence discussions and make decisions with integrity
• of a growth mindset, with experience of developing new areas of business
