We are looking for Design Safety Expert (DSE ) who will be working in engineering support office multidisciplinary team. DSE is responsible project design safety in material handling solution for Vanderlande system. DSE will review safety designs on mechanical, electromechanically and controls level. DSE will discuss the findings with the teams and document important decisions regarding safety. Beside to above DSE contribute to increasing the maturity of the design safety competence, continuous improvement on processes, product, manuals, templates, and lessons learned.
Department
Engineering support office (ESO) is responsible for making the standardization of products, tooling required to support products. ESO closely works with the sales, project engineering and R&D team.
Job Responsibilities / Core tasks
- Advise (multidisciplinary) based on applicable standards (ISO, IEC, EN etc.)
- Audit the design safety process from start of pre bid phase Sales engineering.
- Consulting & Authority for Health Safety and Risk Analyses within project Engineering
- Consulting & Authority for mandatory Health and Safety deliverables (documents) within project engineering
- Verify safety solutions within projects & where necessary discuss these with stakeholders (e.g., PLE/PM/Supervisors);
- Execute site inspection on Design Safety (Mechanical/Electrical/Controls)
- Contribute to continuous Improvement of design safety.
- Programming of integrated safety PLC (Siemens), verification and inspection onsite.
Job Skills / Functional / Technical Skills
- Capable to reduce, evaluate, summarize, decide, present and advise on complex technical safety solutions
- Highly effective in organizing and working independently
- Understanding of the machine directive (2006/42/EC) and experience in the application of safety standards like EN 619; ISO 13849-1/2; ISO 13850, ISO 14122-1 till -4; IEC 60204-1)
- Certification in machine safety like CMSE (Certified Machine Safety Expert) is a prerequisite.
- Able to understand the integrated safety PLC architecture, implementation of
- Knowledge of integrated safety PLCs e.g. Siemens PLC and its programming.

Qualification
BE. / B. Tech (Electronics, Electrical engineering) degree from a recognized University / Institution.
Experience
9-10 years of relevant experience from which preferably 4 minimum years in machine safety
