The Role
We are seeking to engage a Design Manager to join our Power & Energy Team in ANZ. In this role you’ll be responsible for delivering technical design management & design consultancy services of a complex nature (design fees up to $2 million) in order to meet client requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring high quality deliverables are in line with the brief & relevant project / stakeholder / statutory requirements;
- Leading the technical team to develop & manage project scope, delivering fit for purpose technical solutions as agreed with the client stakeholders;
- Implementing strategies that address program, delivery & design risks & ensure that the most appropriate standards & requirements are developed & implemented;
- Managing all design activities from preliminary design development through to detailed & final design including value engineering, interactive D&C contractor workshops, design package coordination, version control & stakeholder distribution;
- Being accountable for client satisfaction by supporting the project team to ensure suitably skilled resources are made available to deliver;
- Communicating openly & regularly with the appropriate contributors & stakeholders;
- Managing technical disputes, design clarifications or scope definition with a best for project outcome;
About You
Suitable applicants will be/have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
- CPEng
- RPEQ / RPEV / PER (NSW)
- Demonstrated experience in detail design of projects within Transmission & Distribution; Renewables; Energy
- Relevant experience in team leadership / management
- Thorough knowledge of the appropriate Industry standards and the local market
- High level communication skills;
