Job Description
As Design Engineer, you will work with cross functional teams to continuously improve cost and quality of products within a structured product design/development process. Your work will contribute to our cost improvement objectives of our business.
- Learn and apply lean product design and development tools, systematic problem solving and critical thinking to continuous improvement projects.
- Liaison with supply chain personnel, product engineers, vendors, and manufacturing staff for the specification and sourcing of raw materials, components, and final products.
- Develop Design Validation Plans, coordinate testing, and provide hands-on troubleshooting to ensure requirements are met.
- Assure product quality with thorough validation of production processes with direct support of plant trials.
- Participate in internal design meetings to understand design and functional requirements.
- Execute experiments with guidance from more senior engineers and document results; makes recommendations for improvements based on the test results.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical / Mechatronic preferred).
- 0-2 years in Mechanical/Design Engineering.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Conceptualization, visualization and creativity.
- knowledge of 3-D Parametric Solid Modeling (Solid Works is a plus).
- Ability to perform detail-oriented work accurately.
- Time management, prioritization & analytical problem solving.
- Adaptable, able to adjust to ongoing changes and improvements.
- Self-motivated and collaborative.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Desire to work hands-on, prototype and troubleshoot proactively.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
