Main responsabilities
As a Design Engineer for John Deere's Enterprise Technology and Innovation Center, you will work in a cross functional team supporting John Deere Power Systems, focusing on engine components. The global team will include JDPS, vehicle partners, and suppliers.
- Lead design activities for the product development cycle, from concept development through virtual and physical build, testing and implementation.
- Proficiently use CAD tools to create 3D models and prints for engine components.
- Define specifications for sourced system components to allow the engine system to meet performance and durability goals
- Collaborate with others to solve design issues to meet product performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost goals.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting to manufacturing, quality, production, and supply management teams to ensure product requirements are met.
- Create and maintain BOM structures and lead part workflow through the system.
What Skills You Need
- Knowledge or one or more years of proven experience in Product Design, product development or product validation.
- Strong mechanical engineering skills (Machine element design, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics).
- Ability to independently solve problems, think critically, and generate conclusions/solutions from technical data.
- Understanding results of FEA to improve designs.
- Effective technical communication (verbal and written) and documentation/knowledge management skills.
- Experience with CAD package (PTC Creo preferred).
- Fluent in English.
- Proactivity and drive for results, strong sense of urgency, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with clear focus on projects' objectives, milestones and deliverables.
