HNTB’s Design Build Organization is seeking a VDC/Integration Specialist to join our growing team. This position is for seasoned professionals with a deep understanding of Civil Engineering project delivery and specialized knowledge in Building Information Modeling (BIM) management and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC).
As a VDC/Integration Specialist, you will lead the development and execution of BIM and VDC strategies on Mega and Super Mega design build projects. You will be a key player in our pursuit and project teams across the nation, leveraging your senior-level expertise to enhance project efficiency and quality.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs independent technical reviews, makes recommendations, and provides technical guidance as requested on complex or unusual engineering projects. Provides direction to resolve technical issues as requested.
  • Provides technical expertise and advice to project leadership, and mentoring/support to production staff.
  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation on complex or unusual engineering projects within discipline.
  • Coordinates technical aspects with client counterpart and teaming partners at local leadership level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Develops and advises on technical consistency within discipline across processes and projects. Ensures same standard and practices are being applied.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree in Engineering and 9 year of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience

What You’ll Bring:

  • A strong foundation in Civil Engineering with large transportation project experience.

  • Mastery of industry standard Civil Engineering design software and common data environments.

  • CAD/BIM/VDC Management experience on large Civil Engineering projects.

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams.

  • A track record of integrating BIM and VDC to improve project delivery.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

What We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.

  • Design Build project experience on major highway, bridge, airport, or transit projects.

  • Experience with the Bentley suite of applications including but not limited to Projectwise, Bentley InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer.

  • Experience with the Autodesk suite of design products including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Infraworks, Revit, and Navisworks.

  • Ability to progress multiple tasks at the same time on accelerated schedules.

  • Strong communication and oral presentation skills across all levels of the organization.

The approximate pay range for New York is $123,854.48 - $242,151.39. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.

The approximate pay range for Washington, DC is $142,432.65 - $222,779.29. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
