Depot Operative

Working within a busy and growing depot your duties would duties would vary from day to day ranging from:
- Office based activities such as processing orders via phone or over the trade counter.
- Working within the paint mixing area which may include using colour tools to identify colours and provide an accurate match. Then processing the colour formulation and producing the required colour.
- During peak times you may be picking orders or replenishing stock via a warehouse management system.
- Maintain key customer relationships and ensure expected standards are met.
- Assist with daily vehicle logistics and route planning.
- Occasional driving for customer site visits or deliveries may be required.
- Full training will be provided with ongoing training plans put in place to provide the opportunity for personal growth and career development.
Working hours:
40 per week annualised 8.00 – 17.00
Monday – Friday (No weekends)
25 days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a high level of accuracy is maintained when picking customer orders.`
- Work effectively between differing roles as required
- Maintain a level of efficiency and utilisation as set by the picking performance criteria.
- Align with health and safety regulations, always maintain safe-working practices and undertake any required training.
- Communicate optimally to build open working relationships with all colleagues, and act as a role model for the PPG values and behavioural indicators.
- Pick items as required for daily delivery.
- Coordinate deliveries in a timely, efficient manner and to keep records as required.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain existing client relationships.
- Report any problems that may arise from goods or services supplied by the company to the relevant Branch management in a timely manner.
- Collect accurate payment from customers, as advised by the Branch management, and then keep safely as per procedure.
Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence essential (Maximum 3 points)
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to use relevant I.T equipment and complete required training programme and ongoing competence assurance training.
- Organised approach to work including ability to plan daily route for deliveries.
- Structured in approach to tasks and ability to meet customer ETA’s.
- Passion for delivering high quality customer service and driving business growth
