The Role
We are seeking an experienced DeFi builder to join our ecosystem team as a DeFi/IPFi Associate. If you have experience building in DeFi, or come from a traditional finance background with deep personal experience participating in a wide range of DeFi markets, we’d love to hear from you.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and shape GTM strategies across the DeFi/IPFi vertical. You are expected to leverage your experience to support partners to maximize their launch impact and ongoing success, leverage your existing network to build distribution support, and help activate new regional DeFi communities by educating them of the novel applications being built on Story relevant to them. This is a high impact role that provides a steep learning curve.

Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new high-potential opportunities and partnerships with upcoming and leading DeFi protocols.
- Own and manage existing IPFi partnerships, helping existing builders to enhance user adoption, go-to-market and optimize their products.
- Maintain an up-to-date database and coordinate with the broader team to ensure successful execution.
- Collaborate closely with our technical team and other departments to ensure our DeFi partners are aligned with market needs and business goals.
- Assist with market research in identifying strategic KOLs, thought leaders, and likely whales/liquidity providers for ecosystem partners.
- Help maintain relationship with strategic regional players in the DeFi space and help build a robust distribution network to support ecosystem projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, on major initiatives to achieve maximum synergy.
- Lead new initiatives to maximize the impact of IPFi protocols on a standalone basis and in collaboration with IP projects on Story.
- Support the Head of IPFi’s initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in business development, sales, finance, or venture capital, preferably in DeFi and/or traditional financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of DeFi technology especially in leading ecosystems or projects is highly preferred
- Experience using a wide variety of different DeFi projects, ideally with some understanding product and tokenomics design.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize product features and requirements based on customer needs, market trends, and business goals.
- Native or fluent proficiency in one or more of Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, or other commonly spoken languages across APAC regions is preferred, but not required.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Highly organized, process-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
