Forbes Vetted is seeking a Deals Editor to join our growing commerce editorial team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the success and growth of our deals section. Major responsibilities will include managing the deals content calendar, assigning and editing deals articles, managing the Assistant Deals Editor, and content planning as well as operational preparations for tentpole sale events. This role reports to the Senior Deals Editor.
The final candidates will be expected to complete a writing test.
Responsibilities
- Creating and managing the deals content calendar
- Assigning and editing 8-10 deals stories per week
- Managing the Assistant Deals Editor
- Regularly monitoring and refining deals content strategy in conjunction with our Senior Deals Editor and Executive Strategy Editor
- Collaborating with the Assistant Deals Editor on brand-building initiatives such as columns, social videos and newsletters
- Content planning and operational preparations for tentpole sale events like Memorial Day and Cyber Week
- Leading a team of writers and editors during tentpole sales coverage, including occasional weekend shifts during key periods
The Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of experience editing content with a focus on deals coverage strongly preferred
- An understanding of SEO best practices and a proven track record of producing successful SEO content
- Prior management experience
- Experience monitoring commerce-related KPIs and using them to inform content planning (preferred)
- Demonstrated editing skills with a meticulous eye for detail
- Stellar time management and organization skills and an ability to independently manage workflow while maintaining open communication with various stakeholders
- Exceptional collaboration skills
- A focus on user experience and editorial independence, plus an appropriate taste level to be able to curate products for the Forbes audience
This is a remote role with the option to commute to the Jersey City Forbes office if desired.
The annual base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $90,000
