Position Overview
We're searching for a Database Administrator to remotely join our team . This role will manage and maintain Postgres and Microsoft SQL Servers and databases to ensure their performance, availability, security, and consistent growth. This role will also contribute to t he d eveloplopment and implementation of data standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure best practices.
What You'll Do
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required
- Assist in database design and enhancement for optimal performance
- Ensure database integrity, stability, and system availability
- Maintain database backup and recovery infrastructure
- Understand and implement database security protocols
- Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations
- Provide support and guidance to developers with database needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for database design, implementation, and operation
We're Excited to Learn More About You
Your experience may include:
- 3-5 years of experience as a DBA with Postgres and Microsoft SQL
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is essential
- Strong understanding of database structures, principles, and best practices
- Experience with database backup and recovery procedures
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines while maintaining focus in an environment with competing demands
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate with other business units
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
