Client Account Services (CAS) Change and strategy team is a Global team serving account and SSI reference data needs across our Commercial and Investment Banking businesses. Our team is specifically responsible to design and implement strategic reference data solution across Market execution, Clearing and Prime Lines of business. We combine our domain and technical expertise to make data fit-for-purpose, timely and accurate to enable JPM's digital transformation vision. We apply our problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and implement technology solutions to better manage our data. Deep reference data domain knowledge and data management expertise are paramount for our ability to continuously deliver high quality data to our rapidly growing business.
As a Data Transformation Lead - Vice President in Operations you will play a key role in leading individuals with a diverse set of backgrounds ranging from data analysts to data management professionals. You will lead by example in understanding the client onboarding life cycle, trade management and settlement life cycle. Using your experience and expertise, you will help the team in identifying opportunities to deliver data requirements and ensure quality standards are met . You will be instrumental in recommending the account and SSI data modelling solution and deliver high quality data using strong project management and leadership skills. In doing so, you'll build a close partnership with Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders.
Job responsibilities
- Manages large complex account and Standard Settlement Instruction data programmes across Markets
- Delivers strategic data for multiple strategic programmes (Party, Account and Standard Settlement Information)
- Formulates a project plan to meet project objectives while adhering to approved timelines
- Understands end to end data lifecycle (creation, processing, storage and usage) and lineage
- Analyses large datasets, draws valid inferences and ratifies findings with working group
- Identifies ways to automate data readiness in partnership with product owner(s) and technology
- Defines, measures and materially improves data quality to ensure it is fit-for-purpose
- Communicates progress, risks and issues to senior management and stakeholders
- Informs stakeholders on progress leveraging near real time data visualisation dashboards
- Maintains strong relationships with varied set of stakeholders - Chief data office, Client Onboarding, Ref data Product Owner, Technology and Operations teams
- Recruits, mentors, and develops a team of data analysts and data management professionals
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Previous significant experience in driving data strategy and managing complex data projects within Investment Banking businesses (Markets execution, Global Clearing and Prime)
- Good understanding of clients' onboarding life cycle and the different use cases
- Demonstrable experience in a data management related role such as data modelling and data quality
- Strong knowledge of data processing paradigms and associated tools and technologies (Alteryx, tableau)
- Strategic vision to align your team's goals while providing outstanding service to business and other internal/external clients
- Creative and flexible approach to problem solving as well as leadership ability in change management
- Excellent communication skills, allowing you to clearly articulate business needs and to advocate on behalf of your team
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to establish strong credibility and influential relationships to communicate business needs
- Strong technical experience and domain expertise to lead and develop a team of data analysts and data management professionals
- Previous leadership experience or strong informal leadership experience
- Intermediate/Advanced experience using SQL
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics.
- Agile Project management experience
- Intermediate/Advanced experience using, Alteryx, Tableau
- Experience producing PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences
- Business process reengineering mind-set (ie Six Sigma)
