Client Account Services (CAS) Change and strategy team is a Global team serving account and SSI reference data needs across our Commercial and Investment Banking businesses. Our team is specifically responsible to design and implement strategic reference data solution across Market execution, Clearing and Prime Lines of business. We combine our domain and technical expertise to make data fit-for-purpose, timely and accurate to enable JPM's digital transformation vision. We apply our problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and implement technology solutions to better manage our data. Deep reference data domain knowledge and data management expertise are paramount for our ability to continuously deliver high quality data to our rapidly growing business.
As an Markets Account Reference Data Product Owner - Senior Associate - in Operations, you will join a Global team of Product Owners who lead / drive Account Reference Data transformation initiatives and provide support for various projects. You may be involved in multiple projects or initiatives, working across the whole project lifecycle, researching new projects, business process changes, configuration changes or system modifications. Through strong partnership with Product, Operations and Technology counterparts, you'll work on project deliverables. Primary areas of focus will include eliciting project or initiative requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis. You will critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Additionally, you will assist in the overall coordination and management of the program, including status, scorecards, and other key project management functions.
Job responsibilities

  • Defines the area product vision, roadmap, product metrics, and OKRs in partnership with the Product Manager. Maintains and prioritizes the product backlog and roadmap to align with the overarching product strategy
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with stakeholders. Regularly updates key stakeholders on project progress and impacts
  • Owns the end-to-end delivery of a set of features and capabilities. Is accountable and responsible for producing project outputs and subsequent presentations to stakeholders
  • Collaborates with other product owners and analysts across the business to ensure coherent design. Contributes as a leader to collaboration and feedback activities, such as retrospectives and knowledge sharing
  • Is responsible and accountable for demonstrating the value of the work delivered. Documents technical user stories and acceptance criteria for the feature team and allocated features to the product domain
  • Works with the Product Manager to set up and track KPIs/measures and client/user feedback
  • Identifies problems, risks, and dependencies, and addresses them according to Agile principles. Accepts or rejects work completed by the dev team and makes decisions on releasing final work
  • Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Drives scrum cadences in partnership with the scrum master, including sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, sprint planning, and daily scrums
  • Leads initial/exploratory scoping and high-level analysis workshops
  • Becomes highly knowledgeable in the relevant business domains and develops SME knowledge


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Previous experience in product development/Change management experience
  • Experience in user story writing, story mapping, backlog prioritisation and understanding constraints that may affect the prioritisation process
  • Experience in release planning and product roadmap creation
  • Able to analyse business needs and activities and translate them into solution requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to identify root causes of problems and to evaluate information with sound judgement, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Agile project delivery mindset. Knowledge and working experience of scrum framework
  • Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and MS Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships
  • Familiarity with reference data and data analysis capabilities to support product design


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics
  • Familiarity with the company's products and services -Markets, Prime Brokerage, Clearing
  • Experience producing PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences
  • Project management certification - PMP, PRINCE2, Scaled Agile
  • Business process reengineering mind-set (i.e. Six Sigma)
  • Experience with data analysis tools i.e. SQL / Alteryx / Tableau are a plus
