About the role
We are looking for a Data Solution Architect for Data & Analytics to join our growing team in the Lab!
Are you a solution architect specializing in data and analytics? Do you have experience with cloud data solutions? Do you enjoy solving large, complex data challenges? We are recruiting a Data & Analytics Solutions Architect to join our team as we continue to evolve our market-leading data and analytics practice.
What you'll do here:

Be part of a high-profile team with a multitude of opportunities to deliver transformative data solutions to our business customers.

Continue to develop and evolve the Enterprise Data Platform architecture and integrations with our systems and market tools.

Collaborate with members of various technical teams to develop solutions that address the needs of our key data customers.

Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure adherence to EA principles and guidelines.
-
Develop scalable and robust architectures that can support the growing volumes of our data environments.
-
Deliver architectures that meet our enterprise security and data protection standards.
-
Ensure the architecture is aligned with our corporate vision and objectives, while being able to propose innovative new approaches to problem solving.
What you need:
-
A bachelor’s degree in information technology/software engineering or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
-
At least 5-7 years' experience in a Solution Architecture role.
-
A deep understanding of cloud services and architectures preferably AWS and understanding services such as S3 (or equivalent), IAM roles, networking, and security setups. Data Architects must navigate the nuances of cloud security, hybrid cloud environments, and cost-efficient infrastructure design.

Experience in Databricks platform : Cluster Management, Delta Lake, ability to set up and manage complex job workflows and pipelines using Databricks jobs.

In-depth understanding of Apache Spark, optimization techniques like partitioning, caching, and handling skewed data.
-
Data Security and Encryption Techniques : Hands-on experience with cloud security (IAM, VPCs, encryption) and data governance tools (Unity Catalog) , Defining best practices for collaboration, code reviews, project management, and data governance.

Experience in real-time data processing using streaming tools like Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, or Databricks Streaming. They should be skilled in creating frameworks that maintain data quality, security, and privacy.

Database Design and Data Modeling (Power Designer): Knowledge of data modeling, including normalization, star schema, and data vaults.

Knowledge on AI Integration i.e how to build data pipelines that feed into AI algorithms and how to structure databases that will provide data to ML workflows seamlessly

Experience in snowflake is an asset.

Certification in an Architecture Frameworks (TOGAF or similar) (asset).

Experience with the CGI RCDA architecture approach (asset).

Being able to effectively challenge the Status quo and set standard and direction for the solutions

A very good communicator who excels at explaining your ideas.

Well organized, able to multi-task and manage priorities.

For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
