Leidos is looking for a Data Scientist to join our Chief Data & Analytics Office within our Digital Modernization sector. In this role, you will apply your expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science solutions to provide insights to business leaders to optimize our enterprise operations. You will work on solving unique, challenging problems while identifying patterns within data sets to support process improvement, inform decision-making, and predict future outcomes.
We are looking for someone who has a strong foundation in Data Science concepts, Python programming experience, and the ability to work in fast-paced development teams. To be successful in this role, you should be highly motivated and collaborative, working well independently and within a team of junior and senior engineers, researchers, and corporate managers. You should be effective at documenting and presenting your work, and comfortable creating and communicating plans, progress, and results.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze data to identify trends and inform decisions
- Support developmental plans based on data findings related to program, personnel, training needs
- Support development and maintenance of primary program database and run interval reporting
- Implement appropriate modeling and data science strategies required to address customer needs.
- Communicate results and methods for solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Design, build, train, and evaluate machine learning models
- Work within teams of AI/ML researchers and engineers using Agile development processes
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar field and 8+ years of relevant data analytics experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong Python and R programming fundamentals
- Experience with data repositories and reporting tools, such as Power BI, SharePoint
- Experience with workflow tools, such as Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks
- Basic DevOps skills such as utilizing Docker containers, Git, and the CLI
- Experience with AI/ML tools, such as common Python packages (e.g., scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas) and Jupyter notebooks
- Experience with tabular data analysis using languages such as SQL, R, and/or Python
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Adaptability to new challenges with a strong motivation to grow and learn in new areas
- General knowledge of Leidos business practices and overall corporate functions and organization
- US citizenship is required and able to obtain Top Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in data science-related field or certifications desired.
- Experience with data visualization libraries such as Plotly, Streamlit, and matplotlib.
- Experience with building LLM and other Generative AI applications.
- Willing to learn new skills and platforms to support data analytics.
- Active Top Secret security clearance

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
