Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team and leverage cutting-edge machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights from massive datasets. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing data-driven solutions that enhance our client services and product development within a highly automated industrial manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong programming, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement robust data pipelines to consolidate and analyze large-scale, heterogeneous data sources (structured and unstructured).
  • Collaborate closely with product and service teams to define analytical questions, translate business needs into data-driven solutions, and conduct A/B testing experiments.
  • Develop and maintain efficient and scalable data processing algorithms and automated workflows for data cleansing, integration, and validation.
  • Perform advanced statistical modeling, feature engineering, and analysis using supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised learning techniques.
  • Extract meaningful insights from complex datasets, including time-series data and images, and communicate these findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure and analytical processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong track record of success in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment. Experience working with terabytes or petabytes of data is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in statistical modeling, feature extraction and selection, and various machine learning techniques (supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised).
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R, along with experience using relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong SQL skills and experience extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources, including relational databases (e.g., Teradata) and big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). Experience with ETL processes (e.g., SSIS) is a plus.
  • Solid software development skills, including experience with version control (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and/or the semiconductor industry is a plus, but not required.
  • A passion for working with large datasets and applying machine learning to solve real-world business problems. Prior publications in AI/DS relevant conferences (e.g., CVPR, NIPS, ICML, KDD) are a plus but not required.
