What You'll Do
As a Data Operations Manager, you will lead data integrations with our Japanese health system partners to support the development of Flatiron's real-world evidence products. You will collaborate with Flatiron's internal teams and hospital IT staff to design, implement, and scale data integration systems. In addition you will:

  • Manage data integration efforts with health system partners, ensuring secure and efficient processes
  • Work closely with hospital IT teams to understand system requirements and data storage structures
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Strategic Partnerships teams to align integrations with business needs
  • Develop scalable, automated operational processes for multi-site integrations
  • Support hospital research staff in daily data extraction operations
  • Contribute to product roadmap development by understanding customer and market needs

Who You Are
You're a creative thinker with 3+ years of experience managing projects involving data integrations, system development, or other technical workflows in a customer facing role. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact. Additionally:

  • You are fluent in Japanese at the L2 level, capable of engaging in discussions with external stakeholders, and able to communicate effectively in English with internal team members
  • You have a passion for working with data and understanding how it can be turned into products that support oncology research
  • You have demonstrated customer and project management skills, and a track record of success in bringing complex, technical projects to completion with partners or third parties
  • You have a "get it done" mentality, and are self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity
  • You thrive in a cross-functional environment, and enjoy working collaboratively with a diverse team of individuals with different backgrounds and skill sets
  • You are a strong communicator with an ability to adapt your communication style to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders with varying levels of seniority


While this role will be based in Tokyo, Japan, you're willing to travel to hospital locations throughout Japan on occasion.
Optional

  • You have experience with Linux server management and networking
  • You have experience working with any of the systems used in hospital operations such as medical health records systems, exam systems, patient reservation systems etc.
  • You have experience in data quality analysis

Preferred Primary Location: Tokyo office
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
