Overview
We are currently seeking a Data Manager 2/REDCap programmer who, under the direction of senior data managers and programmers, will provide both data management and electronic data capture (EDC) programming support for federally-funded and commercially-funded clinical research and epidemiological studies. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes other data managers and programmers, epidemiologists, and operations staff. You will play a critical role in the collection and management of data for these studies by developing databases, workflows, and reports to support the full lifecycle of a study. You will assist with design of forms/surveys, implement variable naming and coding conventions, conduct QA/QC and user acceptance testing (UAT), monitor the quality of the data collected, and generate reports to inform the progress of the studies and to summarize the study data from a scientific and operational perspective. You may also assist with statistical programming to develop reports and create analysis datasets. Responsibilities
- Developing electronic case report forms (eCRFs) and surveys based on specifications
- Operationalizing and documenting data collection workflows according to study protocols
- Assisting with implementation of edit checks and data quality rules to resolve queries and discrepancies
- Assisting with development and maintenance of data dictionaries, code tables, and study databases
- Creating and interpreting reports for internal and external study monitoring purposes
- Contributing to the development and implementation of data management plans
- Participating in QC, validation, and UAT of data collection procedures and systems, development of testing plans, and review of findings
- Evaluating and keeping up to date with new EDC system functionality
- Assisting with integration between EDC systems and external tools and systems
- Aiding in completion of activities and documentation for database lock
- Ensuring quality by following established standards and procedures
- Complying with federal regulations, client guidelines, corporate SOPs, and project work instructions related to data management
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. degree in computer sciences, health sciences, or other related field; two or more years of experience with EDC systems (such as REDCap, REDCap Cloud, SurveyCTO, or OpenClinica) which includes development, quality control, and user acceptance testing for collecting, monitoring, and reporting on study data.
- Experience with survey design and development of data workflows.
- REDCap-specific knowledge: the applicant should be familiar with technical concepts such as user and project permissions, automations, reporting tools, longitudinal studies, working in multiple environments (e.g., DEV, PROD), external modules, and APIs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytic and organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail. Able to work well in team environment and independently. Familiarity with statistical software such as SAS, STATA or R is highly desirable.
Basic Compensation: $75,000- $85,000 yearly salary
The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates' skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
